The Hotgen Antigen Test is an immunochromatographic rapid test approved for the use of non-professionals, for the qualitative detection of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antigen. The Hotgen rapid test is based on a new method in which the swabs only have to be inserted 2.5 cm into the nose. The ease of use makes the test more comfortable than conventional methods where the test has to be inserted much deeper.
